Normal or ideal range of muscle extensibility is thought to promote optimal joint kinematics and have the potential to reduce the risk of injury. When a muscle displays insufficient extensibility and is considered 'short' or 'tight', the motion between joint surfaces may be reduced, resulting in restricted joint range of motion. A randomize clinical trial on 12 men and women were required for the study on the basis of non-specific knee pain. All the subjects were randomly assigned into two groups. Group one under gone muscle energy technique and conventional physiotherapy and group two undergone conventional physiotherapy only. The variables were the pain, level of disability and the range of motion and the tools use in grading them were the VAS for pain, WOMAC Scale for disability and the goniometry for the range of motion. The results gotten from the SPSS shows that both MET and conventional therapy were effective in pain, but the group one (MET and conventional physiotherapy) was more significant than group two (conventional physiotherapy) in management of pain, level of disability and range of motion. Keywords: MET, Pain, VAS, WOMAC, Level of disability, Non-specific knee pain.
